Hello, my name is Katie Bell. I am currently in year 11 at Vicksburg High School and enrolled in AP Art. In my body of work, I decided to base my paintings on something very personal to me. I created paintings of a 1968 Firebird convertible, the car my grandparents Frank and Mary Evelyn Bell gave to me when I was a child. I wanted to paint this because it is extremely special to me and is one of the only things that I have from the two of them. I have always been interested in art, as was my grandmother. I love how I can combine my grandpa's love for cars and my grandma's love for painting in this body of work. I used acrylic paint on wood because my grandpa would always take us to walk in the woods when I was younger.
